hybrid

The hybrid vehicle is truly an innovation. A hybrid vehicle uses multiple energy sources or propulsion systems to provide motive power. This most commonly refers to gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles, which use gasoline (petrol) and electric batteries for the energy used to power internal-combustion engines (ICEs) and electric motors. These powerplants are usually relatively small and would be considered "underpowered" by themselves, but they can provide a normal driving experience when used in combination during acceleration and other maneuvers that require greater power.

We hope to get into comparisons and discussions on the site for you. Thanks for looking for hybrid car battery manufacturers at our site.

Here's some news on automobiles and technology developments:

Toyota Seeks Extended Hybrid Car Tax Credits
Under the current federal tax credits for hybrid cars the tax breaks start to phase out once a manufacturer reaches a certain threshold of vehicles sold. Well, Toyota, with its popular Prius and other hybrid vehicles, has reached that threshold, and is now asking congress to extend the hybrid tax credits to encourage more sales of their hybrid vehicles.

Conspiracy theorists would have you believe that the threshold was put in place to specifically penalize sales of foreign made hybrids. (Toyota/Lexus are the only one's having their tax credit amount's decreased.) I guess I'm not as paranoid, and can understand why Toyota is working so hard to keep the hybrid car tax credits going for its hybrids.

California provides incentive to ‘green’ cars
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Los Angeles) has signed legislation that will allow access to the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) highway lanes for the latest generation of low-emission vehicles, similar to a program that previously allowed some hybrid cars such access.

Saturn VUE Plug-in Hybrid - 70MPG
How would you like to drive a compact SUV and get 70 miles per gallon? Yeah, me, too! Well, reports are out that General Motors is planning to introduce a Saturn VUE Hybrid that is a Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). And if that weren't interesting enough, an article at Investors.com shows that Troy Clarke, GM's North American president said the PHEV Saturn Hybrid will get 70 mpg. Pretty impressive for a vehicle that size.

Here's a fact on hybrid vehicles:

All-electric cars are more popular in Europe than in the U.S. The official argument of the major U.S. automobile manufacturers is lack of customer demand for pure electric cars. However, this might change once battery technology advances and gas prices keep further increasing

A gas-electric hybrid engine is a combination of a gasoline/petrol or diesel internal combustion engine with an electric motor to power a vehicle. Various designs exist for how the motor and engine interact with the drive train. Because the engine recharges the battery smaller batteries are required than in an electric vehicle.

A standard combustion engine is required to operate over a range of speed and power, yet its highest efficiency is in a narrow range of operation. Also, an engine designed for a reduced operating range can be more efficient than a standard engine. The battery storage and electric motor allows the engine to operate at its point of maximum efficiency, to be of a higher efficiency design, and to be smaller than non-hybrid applications.

The gas-electric hybrid uses less gasoline than conventional internal combustion engines and does not have the limitations in range that have been a problem for traditional electric vehicles. This type of piston engine is used in hybrid electric vehicles which have begun to enter the market as of 2002.
